- My birthplace is Poum Chumbarkmeas, Srok Mogumpule, Katt Kundail, Kampuchea. I had four older brothers, second oldest sister and one younger brother; I am the child number 6th. In the early 1960 we lost our 5th oldest brother, cost of death (unknown). My father was working for Khmer Government his job was land surveyor for new developed state. In 1966 he was appointed to go to new state call Otdar Meanchey to surveying new developed land for peoples with him, he took my mother's two older brothers and me the baby at that time.
In 1967 my mother’s delivered my youngest brother during the delivery the baby my mother developed high blood pressure, her health got worsen later she died at time I was three year old. After my mother’s past way, my father, brothers and I went back to Chumbarkmeas to stay with my grant parent. After that, we never saw our father again.
In 1970 my oldest brother joint military called KUN SAING SAR to support the families, sister worked in the farm and tbanch krawma, 3rd brother joint Buddha monk, 4th brother went to school and helped sister at the farm, me?. Am stayed at the temple with my 3rd brother most of the time. After my oldest brother past away1973, my 4th brother was quitting monk hoot to joint military. In the end of 1974 my sister, 5th brother and I went back to Otdar Meanchey to look for our father’s. We stuck there and went through the Pol Pot period during that time I got tie-up and left outside for 24hr for mosquito’s food twice, One time because I was sick another was because I caught a fish. In the young age I had to learn how to service very quickly, for four year I only had one pair of clothes and no shoe until the Vietnam invasion then I and eleventh other man in my town picked up gun and fought again Khmer Rouge for three day and nigh while the Vietnamese troop when to capital for their new year celebration. Not long after that we went and joint the none communist (Sarika) force to fought again both Khmer Krawharm and Vietnamese until the middle 1980.
My oldest brother past away 1973, he was a soldier.
My sister is still alive and is living well.
My 3rd brother’s past away somewhere during 1974-1978.
My 4th brother is missing,
My 5th brother’s past way at a young age.
My youngest brother was past away when is was eight months old.
I'm still looking for my 4th brother, we got separated in the end of 1978 in srok Sumrong katt Otdar Mean Cheay.
In the end of 1980 came into camp inside Thailand call Lumpok.
November 1981 our name got pickup to come to Austin Texas. When we got to Austin, our sponsor putted us in three bedroom house with other thirteen families. Because the lack of refrigerator space, there was one girl she was beautiful her and I walked to store together every day that including walking across freeway to go to Chine supermarket to buy some rice. All that time, I never asked for her name. We stayed there for six week then we moved to Seattle.
I still don’t know what her name is. I still thinking about her and those time all the time. I just wandering how is she doing?
