Hi friend,

Recently our nation get problem our neighboring thailand.

I would like to share my idea with preah vihear temple issue.

I alway read many thai newspaper.

I alway looking at the ICJ 1962 decision about preah vihear temple.

I agree with our khmer compatriot. We have 100 % right to register this temple to UNESCO world heritage list.

I give some of my comment,

At the reality for now, I think Cambodia will lost the land in the area of this temple. Cambodia can get only this temple. Why ????????????????? this is good question,

all cambodian people should understand this concept. it's very eassy.

Look at ICJ decision 1962, this court already gave ownership to cambodia (including land 4.6 square metre and temple). They judge based on the map of french colonel 1904.

When France draw border line in 1904, thailand (it was known as siam that time) never objected with france map. The ICJ court based on this map, that's why cambodia win in the case 1962.

After 1962, the ICJ give 10 years to thailand to reserved the right refile if there is new evidence or new law in favour of thailand.

1972, ten year later, Thailand coundn't find new evidence give to ICJ. Officially The land sourrounding this aread and temple, is belong to cambodia.

from 1962 to 1998, the temple was intermittently opnened and shut to the public due to cambodia's lengthy involvement in war and its sour relation with thailand.

I meant during this time, Cambodia has no real border line. because of the war.

in 2006, cambodia unilaterally applies to UNESCO to have the temple list as world heritage site that includes 4.6 square kilometres of overlapping land claimed by both countries.

in 2008, there is negotiation agree with DPM sok An and thai foreign minister, both side agree to put only the temple will be included in the world heritage proposal and not the sourrounding land. Cambodia have to redraw new map.

so now both govt cabinet approved the new map, and send application to UNESCO.

Why cambodia lost land ?

decision in 1962 gave ownership 100 % (sourrounding land and temple). Why cambodia govt draw new map ?

When we draw new map, it meant we don't respect the decision of ICJ 1962.

There will be negotiation about overlapping land in this temple sourrounding land soon next year. So when there is negotiation table, Thailand will not use the ICJ 1962, they have right to say, Cambodia himself don't respect the ICJ 1962.

Demonstration in thailand, Why ? because of cambodia govt himself, when cambodia draw new map, it sound good for thailand side. now they start talking about possible way to file cambodia again at world body with this issue. thailand they want to get all this area including land and temple.

If Cambodia don't draw new map, There will be no demonstration in thailand. Officially thailand lost right to claim this temple since 1962.

because cambodia side, it made big mistake.

It's dangerous for poor cambodia peoople.

Why cambodia want to draw new map, ? Exactly upcoming general election, if Hun Sen govt can register this temple to UNESCO, he can use this achivement in his election campaingn. he is nationalism.

At the reality, Cambodia lost sourrounding land in this temple area. cambodia get only temple.

I don't support Cambodia govt.

I give you some fact.

i am khmer 100%.i would to say hello to koun khmer teng ous that joui in this site.i'm really happy so much for koun khmer that live another country but not forget khmer culture includ me i stay far away from khmer,but never for get khmer culture te. i love khmer culture nas.i want to make koun khmer happy all the time na!!! Oh! thank u for this site!!thank u for Ravuth that make this site for koun khmer to take about them mind them heart. i am really missing khmer nas,but when i use this site make me know about koun khmer all.
